DNS misconfiguration
First published 2026-06
When I visit https://website.allofphysics.com/ Chrome warns me that "net::ERR_CERT_COMMON_NAME_INVALID".
I am not allowed to proceed because, "When Chrome tried to connect to website.allofphysics.com this time, the website sent back unusual and incorrect credentials."
Same error when I try to go to https://website.allofphysics.com/
Therefore I deleted

I have a webserver using Hetzner for the linux virtual machine.
The Domain is registered with SquareSpace.
SquareSpace indicates I am using custom nameservers
The domain nameservers in SquareSpace are
helium.ns.hetzner.de
hydrogen.ns.hetzner.com
oxygen.ns.hetzner.com
In the Hetzner console I have the DNS entries in the attached picture.
A problem I'm seeing is that Google Search Console is looking for a
non-existent subdomain. Why is Google Search looking for a subdomain that does not exist?

Based on the DNS settings shown in the image, the primary reason Google
Search Console is finding and attempting to crawl non-existent
subdomains is likely the wildcard A record (* .allofphysics.com).
